work injury settlement and unemployment in illinois question?

i was injured at work and recently laid off due to cut backs. my question is …if im expecting a settlement for the injury will it effect my unemployment benefits ? i live in illinois.

A WC settlement would not stop unemployment benefits, they are calculated on what you paid in not what you have or may have.}{

    If you were laid off for cut backs and you are physically capable for getting a new job, you should be able to get unemployment.

    If you can’t accept new work due to the injury, you don’t qualify and should be getting workers comp.
