What percentage of lawsuits settle before trial. Can you find any statistics on personal injury settlements?

I hear that "95% of personal injury suits settle before trial" but I have a sense that is conventional wisdom and not anything substantiated by statistics. I have not found stats that speak on this issue.

The correct statistics are that 95% of personal injury law suits are settled without trial. In addition, Of those that do, 90% will lose.
