hiya, the only thing that is taken in account is your injury,and how it happened.go to a solicitor,the one were you don't pay any cost if you win or lose.i had a accident,and the sl,due to the accident.solicitor took statement ,and he did all the rest.it can go on for 2years,because if you have any broken bones etc,they wait till they have healed and there is no long lasting illness.i had a car accident,and got a bad whiplash,and a sprain arm.i received £2,500.i did not pay any solicitor fee,as i got a solicitor that gives you 100% win or lose CASE.its for anyone,not just the low payed.so i came out with the full award money of £2,500.if you need to know anymore email me,and i will see if i can help you in any way.good luck.june

In a PI claim there are two heads of damages paid.

general damages are for the injuries. ie a whiplash injury lasting 12 months is worth about 2800.

special damages cover the losses that occur because of the injury.

So if you lose wages, incur travel costs, have to buy special equipment, or need help around the home in the form of care you will be able to claim for all of these.

You status will make no difference to the amount you receive.

yes because your injury may affect them also, or your ability to provide for them
